Remote Stress Engineer

Stress Engineer
  • Perform Finite Element (ANSYS) structural, modal, thermal, vibration and shock, line loads, fatigue detailed analysis for complex mechanisms
  • Verify analysis using hand calculations
  • Use standard NASA calculations for flanged joints, crack growth, bolts static and dynamic loads
  • Familiarity with LS-Dyna analysis package, 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred), and GD&T
  • Ability to recommend practical design improvements as required
  • Proven ability to write complete stress analysis reports
  • Ability to present analysis reports
  • Work with valves, actuators, tubes, pressurized components, and other aerospace hardware
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent field of study
  • 5+ years of experience in stress analysis, ideally within Aerospace and Aircraft industries
  • Have sound engineering fundamentals
  • Desire to work with team of dynamic, high stress/high reward, diversified team of dedicated aerospace engineers
  • Working knowledge of aerospace materials and treatments
  • Previous experience with modeling programs, but not limited to, CAD/AutoCAD software and other engineering product data management (EPDM) software
