Role Summary

The Test Equipment Directorate is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing test solutions for Raytheon products. Engineers support the full test development lifecycle, from design and analysis through integration, troubleshooting, implementation, and production support.
This role supports engineering and production test systems, including interface assemblies, test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawings, schematics, circuit design, instrument selection, and integration with advanced test environments. Work may be performed for both lab engineering and factory production test systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate test equipment products within multi-discipline engineering teams.
  • Develop engineering and production test systems, test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawings, schematics, and circuit designs.
  • Perform electrical design, analysis, troubleshooting, and test across digital, analog, RF, mixed-signal, and electrical interconnect systems.
  • Support analysis activities such as power analysis, RF chain analysis, and error budget analysis where required.
  • Select and integrate test instruments and environments to support units under test and evolving test configurations.
  • Contribute to all stages of test product development while managing assigned technical, cost, and schedule responsibilities.
  • Uncover, troubleshoot, and resolve issues associated with development, integration, and implementation of test products.
  • Leverage existing test designs where appropriate to interface with new units under test and updated UUT configurations.

Required Qualifications

  • ENG03: Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced STEM degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • ENG04: Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8+ years of relevant experience, or advanced STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with electrical engineering design, including troubleshooting, analysis, and test.
  • Experience with electrical engineering design and analysis tools such as Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Capital, or Creo Schematic.
  • Experience with commonly used test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, and power meters.
  • Experience using schematic capture tools and interpreting schematics.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics; ABET accreditation preferred but not required.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership in a multi-discipline team environment.
  • Experience performing analog, digital, and/or RF design.
  • Experience designing, testing, and integrating digital, mixed-signal, and electrical system interconnects.
  • Experience using integrated development environments and debugging tools to troubleshoot software.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Project management, bid/proposal, cost, schedule, and technical execution experience.
  • Ability to lead single- or multi-discipline teams of engineers.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture and computer hardware optimization techniques.
  • Experience developing and implementing programming languages.
  • Strong technical writing and formal presentation experience.
  • Self-starter able to manage workload, meet deadlines, and work independently or within a team.
