Apply to On Site DevOps Build and release support Engineer- Docker /Python / Linux
Successfull candidate will support infrastructure for Design, development, documentation, and maintenance of software build and release environments, tools and process for software for Medical products.
Essential Functions
• Create, improve, and maintain the build and release environment, tools, and processes used for creating embedded and application software. Assess and implement new tools and processes necessary to improve the software development process and quality, safety, and security of our products.
• Manage day-to-day tool infrastructure, including tools and systems, troubleshooting issues and identification of resources needed to resolve problems
• Participate as an active team member in all aspects of the software development life cycle
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver high-quality products
• Stay current with state-of-the-art technologies, tools, and techniques for automation, quality, and security as applied to software development
• Document designs, processes, and procedures
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
• BS degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience required
• 2+ years’ experience working in a DevOps / Release Engineering environment required
• 2+ years’ experience with build management tools (Jenkins pipelines) required
• 2+ years’ experience with Windows and Linux server operating systems required
• Experience with SVN, TFS, Azure DevOps (ADO), Git, Bitbucket, and Jira desired
• Experience with build/continuous integration tools required
• Experience with build automation & software project management tools required
• Experience in designing, building, maintaining and coordinating an automated build/release from development to production environment required
• Experience with virtualized and containerized environments (e.g., Docker) preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• A strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
• Capable of concurrent management of multiple code, integration, and deployment branches of a highly complex software system
• Experience with one or more scripting languages – Python or Shell Scripts preferred
• Working knowledge of Linux administration
• Working knowledge of Python and Makefiles
• Familiarity: Jira, Microsoft Teams, Nexus Repo Manager and Static Analysis tools desired
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in a medical device software development setting is desired but not required
