Forecasting Manager/Analyst
Summary of Primary Responsibilities
The Forecasting Manager/Analyst, will support the Forecasting Leader of the Inhaled respiratory team working closely with the brand insight team.  This role will be responsible for supporting the forecast process across the inhaled respiratory portfolio, potentially including late-stage products in development.  This includes providing risk analyses, assessment of the impact of a variety of market events, assessing business opportunities, and the continuous evaluation of new forecasting techniques and technologies.  Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are required. Effective written, verbal and presentation skills are a must, along with a drive for continuous improvement and challenging the status quo.  These are the key factors for success in this position.
Major Responsibilities
  • Develop sales forecasts including volume demand, market share, and product sales in support of financial planning (Annual and Rolling Business Updates, long range business plans)
  • Development of a range of forecast scenarios and ad hoc sensitivity analyses to inform critical decisions that influence business shape and strategic direction
  • Design and deploy insightful, concise forecasting reviews that effectively drives team understanding and focused decision-making
  • Partner with counterparts in GPPS on long range Business Plan, driving alignment where possible and a clear understanding of differences in US and GPPS forecast views where applicable
  • Ensure alignment of forecast assumptions and impacts across multiple stakeholders including: marketing, sales, MAPS, finance, and sales operations
  • Proactively identify external and internal events/factors that influence sales forecasts, providing both clear guidance on potential impacts and recommendations on appropriate course of action
  • Subject matter expert on key secondary data sources
  • Responsible for optimization and maintenance of best practice frameworks that are designed to address key business questions/needs by the COE or other forecasting partners
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years of analytical experience, 3 years in health care industry
  • 2+ years of pharma forecasting experience – branded primary care preferred
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong analytical skills with statistical modeling experience (time series expertise preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple business leaders across diverse functions
  • Demonstrated success in translating analytical results into concise, actionable insight and recommendations
  • Hands on experience and thorough understanding of relevant secondary data sources (e.g., IMS NPA, NSP, DDD, Xponent)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; consultative background preferred with a proven ability to work in a collaborative and influencing fashion that drives to business action
  • Ability to manage and lead projects across multiple brands simultaneously
  • An ability to be a proactive internal consultant, adding value and insight to key stakeholders
