MID Level and Sr. JAVA Developers to join their current Central Data Exchange (CDX) EPA account team. CDX is a Service Oriented Architecture-based network that handles exchange of environmental data between EPA & its stakeholders (states, tribes, municipalities, private industry). The program builds, operates, & maintains this network & responsible for building the data flows & applications that operate on & integrate on the network. The candidate needs strong development skills, as well as exp. in a client-facing role, & as a leader/mentor to junior developers. Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting multiple project teams in architecting solutions, determining appropriate coding strategies/tools, & ensuring quality products are produced. Other responsibilities include: Proposal of technical architecture, leading technical design, writing & reviewing source code, participation in testing efforts, troubleshooting technical issues, leading a technical team, direct interaction w/ clients Required qualifications: Min. 10 yrs exp. in software development & IT consulting. This work is long term. Skills required: Development team management experience, consulting exp., exp. w/ Java as primary language, including Spring, Hibernate, Tomcat, Maven, & Git. Spring Boot & Docker exp. a plus. - Exp. building/supporting applications that follow a Single-Page Architecture framework (Knockout, Angular) - Strong JavaScript skills - Oracle Database exp. required; MongoDB exp. a plus - Experience using IaaS & PaaS offerings (Azure, AWS) - Experience authoring/consuming SOAP & REST web services - Providing technical solutions to clients - Can work well balancing multiple assignments - Knowledge of full software life cycle - Knowledge/exp. w/ Agile dev. methodology - BS’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering - Excellent communication skills (writing/presenting)
