Sr. Infrastructure FEP Engineer

This position is for a Senior Front-End Processor (FEP) Engineer that works closely with other Integrated Product Teams, System Engineers, manufacturers, and vendors to meet FEP requirements for the GPS-OCX program. The qualified candidate must effectively install, configure and maintain over 400 FEP and COMSEC devices, including performing firmware and software updates. The qualified candidate must have Infrastructure Engineering design and documentation tool knowledge and experience. Other roles of this position include, but are not limited to: 
• Support of the FEP Working Group 
• Support the design of new FEP solutions and troubleshoot problems with existing FEP solutions 
• Work directly with vendors to maintain hardware and upgrade software/firmware 
• Support risk management activities by developing risk mitigation recommendations in support of reducing program risks  
• Create/maintain FEP maintenance schedules for multiple environments 
• Create/maintain FEP Operation Guides 
• Complete FEP related Discrepancy Reports and Change Requests (DRs/CRs) 
• Write and submit Request For Materials (RFMs) to obtain equipment from vendors 
An active US Government Secret security clearance is required as of day one of this assignment
Required Skills: • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Hardware or Infrastructure Engineering • Experience in network hardware systems design • Project Management experience • General knowledge of COMSEC equipment • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills and creating SOPs • Ability to understand and communicate complex problems at different levels of detail • Ability to decompose large, complex problems into components and the vision to develop integrated solutions between these • Active US Government SECRET Clearance Desired Skills: • Experience with FEP, Crypto KS-252 and KG-175 devices • Experience in FEP subsystem development • Experience presenting solutions to Engineering Review Boards and Change Boards • Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco, Linux and/or Windows systems • System Engineering knowledge including requirements management and verification traceability • Experience supporting Integration & Test (I&T) activities • Experience in Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support • Experience working in a multi-disciplined engineering environment • Familiarity with the system development life cycle • Experience defining interface definitions Interface Control Documents (ICDs) • Experience working in a development or Satellite Operations environment • Experience with Ground Systems Operations • Six Sigma certification Required Education: Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 4 years of related work experience or 12 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline
