Business Analyst

The business analyst will be responsible for gathering and analyzing information on scientific data captured within the Research Laboratories and helping to map and establish processes to streamline the capture, processing and reporting of these data. The business analyst will work on-site in Gaithersburg, MD to meet with scientists on a continuous basis to first develop a deep understanding of the current state for critical data types, and then interactively work with these scientists to establish the ‘to be’ state for presentation and approval by governance. They should be experienced with creating business analysis artefacts such as process maps and business/functional requirements, and be familiar with the application of agile process and/or ADF. 

The business analyst should have good knowledge of the biopharmaceutical R&D workflow and/or pharm domain, and be comfortable interacting with scientists and informaticians. Experience working as a scientist and/or with scientists and the different data types for biomedical research is therefore strongly desired. Ideally the business analyst would have practical exposure to one or more of the following data type technologies: 
• ‘omics (genomics, transcriptomics, etc.,) 
• In vitro / in vivo screening 
• High content screening (HCS) / Imaging 

In addition, experience with scientific data management tools and solutions (e.g., electronic laboratory notebooks, LIMS, etc.) would also be beneficial.
