Site Systems Engineer that will provide and conduct project oversight during the Systems Life Cycle phase for an Army customer in the integration, and fielding of an IT intensive, army ground control weapon system at various site locations. This will include Site Survey, In Process Reviews (IPR’s) of site status, Hardware and Software receipt, installation and configuration at site, Information Assurance/Accreditation and Security requirements/status and Full Operational Capability (FOC) support.
The Site Systems Engineer will manage all aspects of each of the phases at
specific site locations to include:
  • Site Survey: With the Unit - conduct review of the proposed locations; review pros and cons of the respective location; review standard processes involving the installation of HW/SW; discuss accreditation process(es)
  • IPRs: Participate in the discussions to represent the PM perspective and provide input/insight on process, procedures, and requirements for his/her respective phase(s) of the project
  • Installation of HW/SW: ensure completion of their phase in preparation for the next phase of the schedule and cycle, ensure personnel have the tools to complete their phase (to include, at a minimum: HW, SW, licenses, access, accounts)
  • Information Assurance/Security: Ensure IA and security requirements are initiated during the IPR phase. Both require involvement and completion of tasks by the site. Ensure IA personnel have the tools and time to complete their job. Ensure SW phase is complete or close to completion before IA begins. Facilitate scan requirements.
  • FOC: Maintain communications with the respective units and senior leadership to ensure they are not experiencing any challenges required to meet FOC.
BS degree from an accredited college or university and eight (8) to twelve (12) years related experience, or a MS degree and seven (7) to ten (10) years of related experience or Ph.D. from an accredited college or university and two (2) to five (5) years of related experience.
  • Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Initially must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time to support site installations. once installations are completed travel time will decrease to up to 25%
  • Strong engineering background knowledge in technical systems fielding and integration capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical and/or programmatic assessments.
  • Excellent presentation and briefing skills to present status to senior leadership and staff, along with all stakeholders and groups that are part of the project.
  • Continuous collaboration with your site personnel supporting the project and ability to work in a dynamic environment and adjust to shifting work priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Project and SharePoint.
  • Solid understanding of DoD engineering processes and disciplines.
  • Has worked on computer based Military weapon systems.
  • Prior experience with Full Life Cycle Support in a DoD environment
  • DCGS-A or DCGS experience preferred
