Seeking a talented Cyber Engineer candidate to engineer and configure Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) based systems while conducting cyber security tasks focused on security testing to include test results analysis and the development of risk assessment reports. The Cyber Engineer will support security engineering and federal security compliance activities during the operations and maintenance of the GPS OCX satellite ground system. This position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a US Government DoD Secret clearance. 

Typical responsibilities include: 
• Configuring & implementing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 5 and 6 based information systems 
• Security engineering support for technical implementation of security solutions comprised of COTS, FOSS, and custom 
• Performing evaluation of technical implementation of security solutions comprised of COTS as well as custom developed 
• Preparing for, supporting and/or leading Security Test & Evaluation activities for program sell-off of security related 
• Applying knowledge of current IA policies as a contributor to the architecture and design of secure solutions 
• Compliance to security directive assessments review and documentation 
• Preparing for, writing, and presenting trade studies, cost benefit analyses, reports and briefings as required 

Clearance Requirements: 
Must be a U.S. CITIZEN with the ability to obtain a Secret 
security clearance 

Required Skills: 
• 3+ years of hands-on administration experience on RHEL O/S system relating to servers and workstations 
• Experience working with cyber security engineering projects and programs for U.S. Government and/or commercial clients 
• 3+ years of demonstrated technical experience in cyber security 
• Strong understanding of security design and architecture 
• 2+ years of practical experience verification of hardening IT systems in compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) 
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, to include weekends, with short notification 

Desired Skills and Certifications: 
• Technical knowledge in satellite ground systems, including hardware, software, and communications architecture 
• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance 
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification – CISSP and Security + 
• Six Sigma Certification 

Required Education: 
4 years with a BS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical degree; 2 years with a MS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical degree or an additional 12 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree
