This position is to construct and incrementally sustain, modify, upgrade, deliver, and support CAMPS, a Command and Control (C2) software application in support of Air Mobility Command (AMC), using development best practices. The position is immediately available.
The successful candidate, with minimal guidance, will be able to quickly provide technical expertise and perform in-depth and complex software systems programming and analysis. Must have experience on high-performance agile development teams delivering complex systems and software. These skills include the following specific tasks: 
  • Support the software design and changes to support the total functional and security requirements.
  • Support the determination and identification of high-level functional requirements into technical coding requirements, on the basis of interactions with the user requirements and knowledge of the enterprise.
  • Interact with project team management and scrum/team leaders to plan project tasks, schedules and project solution estimates.
  • Identify, assess, and present options for meeting the functional and technical requirements, including software updates or upgrades.
  • Develop inputs for software design documents (as required) to provide system design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Be responsible for and responsive to peer-to-peer and quality assurance review of work products.
Education: BS degree in Computer Science or Information Systems (MS desired); other technical degrees and total experience will be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
Required Experience:  Eight (8) years software engineering experience, to include: Design, Development, and Test and Evaluation.  Five (5) years programming experience with advanced project programming languages (C#,, Visual Basic).  Five (5) years engineering experience to include: database development and access (i.e. SQL Server), Web page design, and using .NET tools and Integrated Development Environments (i.e. Visual Studio) in software development.
Must have experience supporting the development of web-based and client/server applications with:
  • Agile development methods
  • Secure software design and development
  • Required language development processes and tools/utilities:
    • Experience with C# and ASP.NET.
    • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio.
    • Configuration management processes and software versioning tools (e.g., Subversion).
    • Experience with JavaScript frameworks and development to support rapid prototyping and development is highly desirable.
  • Desired experience:
    • Experience with workflow control (task assignment) software is highly desired (e.g., JIRA)
    • Experience with Oracle or other RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server) and T-SQL is desirable.
    • Experience with MVC Framework is highly desirable.
    • Experience with Java is desired.
    • Working knowledge in C++ is desirable.  Experience with modern REST, and Web API standards using Microsoft technologies is desirable.
  • Web services development and SOA design.
  • Object-oriented development concepts and design patterns
Desired Skills:  Knowledge of AMC mission planning, scheduling, and execution, and operations is desired.  Has experience working with large software project scheduling, performance, fielding, and compliance with DoD and Air Force IT security and accreditation standards. Has experience providing code and solutions to meet functional requirements, testing, and fielding of automated systems. Has experience with development, testing, configuration management, and fielding support. Has experience reporting on task/program status, including schedule, security, and compliance with directives to team leads, project working groups, using specialized reporting tools as directed. Is able to articulate concepts at both an engineering level (for technical discussions) and a summary level (for management decision making). Has experience with web-enabled applications and client-server architectures.
