STI Software Developer - Temp to Perm - Public Trust

Successful candidates will join a software development team providing support for NASA’s Scientific and Technical Information (STI) program at Langley Research Center, within the Office of the Chief Information Officer.  Position includes development of web applications used by STI program to manage the STI document repository, ingest and process technical documents, and for end users to search for and order STI technical documents.
Position Requirements:
- Proficient in JavaScript, Angular, NodeJS, HTML, CSS, and SQL
- Familiar with Database Management systems, Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL
- Manage user requirements and design, develop and test software to meet the requirements
- Code, test and troubleshoot application software
- Prepare work estimates for assigned development requirements 
- Provide regular reporting to Project/Task Managers
- Assist in evaluating design of new and existing systems to judge their functionality, effectiveness, reliability, performance, usage, maintainability and cost of ownership
- Collaborate and coordinate with systems administration team to ensure comprehensive system testing, availability, and long term lifecycle considerations.
- Excellent at verbal and written communication skills
- Self-driven will minimal supervision while demonstrating initiative and vision
- Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively

Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and 3-7+ years of experience
- Experience developing web applications using Javascript, NodeJS, HTML, CSS, Angular
- Experience using source code editor such as Atom, Eclipse, etc.
- Experience in utilizing software version control system (ie. GIT)
- Experience building front end graphical user interface design
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Java
- Experience using JIRA to track bugs/issues
- Experience with SSO implementation
