In co-ordination with the IT Operations Directory, the level Ill Network engineer is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of the Information Technology Department's operational infrastructure including PC deployments, server related hardware and system software and key infrastructure devices such as VPN and security devices. This individual constantly updates his/her understanding of emerging technologies via technical research and support of key IT development  efforts to support the department's  goal  of   continuous  innovation within  the infrastructure.
 
On a daily basis, the IT support engineer ensures that core servers, operating systems, relevant application systems and related procedures adhere to organizational requirements from a security and uptime point of view. The IT support engineer is responsible for network security, troubleshooting, diagnosis and technically advanced network support tasks.
 
As a senior network resource this position provides technical and management  leadership for  the IT Operations area working in conjunction with the IT Operations Director. Supervises level II and below resources as designated.
 
This resource also prepares and maintains operating procedures and associated documentation.
 
 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:
  • Install, test, monitor and troubleshoot PC and network related hardware and software issues                              
  • Coordinate, lead and where appropriate conduct effective installation and performance tuning of advanced operating system hardware and software on servers 
  • Install new & rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. This includes the evaluation and installation of OS and infrastructure device patches and Installing new software releases and system upgrades
  • User requirement analysis and account maintenance including daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes and a detail review of system and application logs 
  • Plan and execute appropriate documentation, inventory, assessment and related IT control procedures 
  • Make recommendations regarding security, network monitoring and capacity planning
  • Conduct software and hardware evaluations providing technical analysis and implementation support for IT, consultant and user based development efforts 
  • Lead department recovery efforts where appropriate in the event of hardware and/or software    Coordinate  and communicate  with  impacted users/groups 
  • Work within a team to automate management tasks and streamline processes 
  • Supervises level II and below resources as designated 

Qualifications

Skill Requirements:

  • Four plus (4+) years of experience with Microsoft  Windows  Administration
  • Three plus (3+) years of experience in a windows 2008/2012/2016 environment supporting 100+ users including experience with Group Policies, Security, Login and logout functions, support of remote users via VPN technologies, terminal server, VM, TCP/IP, DHCP and DNS technologies
  • Two plus (2+) years of experience with Office 365
  • One plus (1+) years of experience supporting an IIS server including WEB, FTP, FTP and system services
  • Outstanding customer  service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment including a willingness to support any project with which IT is involved and including support of development, process and user team members
  •  
Education  Requirements:

       •    BA/BS  in Computer  Science or related  field   or equivalent  processional experience

  •  MCSA/MCSE certified
