The selected candidate will provide operating system support to the client sever domain(s) they operate in a large wide area network (WAN) environment. Analyze the performance of hardware / software in terms of feasibility, compatibility, and cost-effectiveness. Provide recommendations to management based on alternatives, costs, benefits, and technological requirements. Assist client personnel in the enhancement, installation, implementation, and support of the infrastructure and environment. Maintain source code for software and provide enhancements as needed.
 
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system failures. Review server and system data, such as volume, peak loads, and circuit capabilities and provide metrics and adjustments to systems to meet requirements. Evaluate data to determine capacity and quality of service.
 
Provide Web/Internet support to the client. Create and maintain client webpages and websites in both JWICS and SIPRNET environments. Assist client in reviewing, evaluating, and installing new web technologies.
 
Proactively provides advice and guidance within area(s) of expertise and serves as an internal consultant on supported issues/activities. Provides leadership and support in monitoring project performance and meets/exceeds expectations. Protects company sensitive information, and maintains awareness and supports core business standards. Leads and actively participates in special projects/programs and contributes to assigned teams.
 
Applies experience to complex and/or varied assignments that may cross projects, programs and/or functional areas. Works independently; establishes and drives priorities; reviews progress with management; and has moderate latitude for decision making in the accomplishment of business objectives. Develops and adheres to cost, budget and schedule for assignments. Serves in a significant role as client interface for functional issues. Identifies, recommends and implements procedural improvements and problem resolution.
 
BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field plus a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience, including five (5) years of technical experience in UNIX software development to include Solaris & CENTOS operating systems.
The candidate must perform at a high technical level for most phases of UNIX systems analysis; shall have experience/ familiarity with MYSQL and the OBJECTIVITY object-based database or other enterprise level relational databases; shall be able to troubleshoot at the command line level the following: volume/disk administration, file system backup and retrieval, printer administration, SVR4 auditing, DNS, NFS, and the auto mounter, user administration, and TCP/IP-based networks; shall have experience with UNIX and Windows interoperability, UNIX emulation, Oracle multi-pathing, and Storage Area Network Fabrics; shall be familiar with the administration of a DoDIIS /IC PKI architecture; shall be familiar with the designing, maintenance and implementation of a system security plan within the Defense Intelligence Agency work environment.  Two (2) years’ experience in the maintenance of relational databases and associated Java based administration tools, write UNIX shell scripts (Bourne, C-shell).  Three (3) years’ experience in the development of Internet applications, such as home pages, database interfaces, and security.  Proficient in HTML, JAVA, and other Internet languages and tooled.
