Senior Principal Electrical Engineer - FPGA Design. The Receiver Exciter and Signal Processing (RESP) Department in the Electrical Design Directorate (EDD) is seeking a Digital Logic Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Designer with digital hardware and firmware architecture experience to join our team. This position will support the Multi-Function RF System (MFRFS) product line located in McKinney, Texas. The MFRFS product line utilizes state-of-the-art technologies and real time computing architectures to provide next-generation radar capabilities to our customers. Our technology base includes high-speed digital electronics, configurable logic, and homogeneous/heterogeneous multiprocessor designs.The candidate will be responsible for leading the FPGA development in a radar receiver exciter design. The selected candidate will be expected to lead diverse teams, provide technical oversight, delegate tasks, and work with the Engineering organization to establish technology roadmaps, and contribute to general innovation. The candidate will be responsible for providing guidance, coaching, mentoring, and training to other employees within the candidate’s areas of expertise.Required Experience and Skills:10+ years of experience relative to the Required Skills listed below (less with an advance degree) • Experience with Verilog or VHDL hardware description languages• Experience with hardware/firmware/software integration and test using FPGAs and embedded processors• Experience with Altera Quartus and/or Xilinx Vivado Integrated Development Environments• Experience with requirements flow down and requirements development• Experience with FPGA simulation, regression testing, and verification• Required: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.  Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Desired Experience and Skills: • Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities from multiple sources• Strong interpersonal skills working in a team environment with positive interaction• Experience with COTS processor cards• Experience with radar electronic protection techniques• Familiarity with all stages of the radar system product lifecycle, including early concept/trade studies, design, integration, verification, and transition to production. Required Education:  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in math, engineering, science or related technical field required • Masters of Science (MS) or PhD in electrical engineering preferred.
