Monitors hardware and database availability daily.Executes performance monitoring and tuning as required.Coordinates database changes with system managers, developers and data architects.Develops, tests and deploys RDBMS changes.Administering and managing Database software within the Microsoft, HPUX, Linux, and SUN Environments Runs batch applications in accordance with agency-provided operating procedures.Ensures reliable system performance on database servers and other system facilities within its direct control. Tests new and updated Database systems, including performance testing. Installs software, patches, or upgrades, modify tables or databases and assist Government personnel in performing this function. Maintain database configuration documentation for all databases. Insure that all database servers are backed up and verified.  Develops, maintains and executes all IA related task and duties in accordance with regulations to include the development and execution of DIACAP Program to Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) or Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) all IA vulnerabilities. Works all tickets that are assigned based on priority and age of ticket. Response and resolutions times are identified in attachment H.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. 8+ years of directly related experience supporting database support services. Must be experienced with database support in Oracle, Microsoft SQL, My SQL, and DB2. Must have knowledge of database construction, maintenance, back-ups, database space allocation, & data warehousing. Candidate must have Security+ certification.
