The selected candidate for this role will:
  • Directly interface with the NASA customer for JETS Orion GN&C related activities for future missions including EM-1, EM-2, and Deep Space Gateway activities.
  • Participate in the design and analysis of simulated vehicle flight performance of the Orion integrated GN&C system.
  • Perform design and analysis using the NASA/JSC Orion MPCV ANTARES and the Lockheed Martin OrionSim GN&C simulations.
  • Design, develop, and analyze the integrated Guidance, Navigation, and Control (IGN&C) trajectory performance for the Orion MPCV.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:  
  • BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of fourteen (14) years of direct engineering experience, or a MS degree from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of twelve (12) years of direct engineering experience, or a Ph.D. degree and a minimum of nine (9) years direct engineering experience.
  • Skills and experience should demonstrate:
    • The proven ability to solve complex total GN&C system and simulation problems.
    • Experience with spacecraft simulation modeling and analysis, spacecraft GN&C systems.
    • Expertise with spacecraft mission design, and flight procedures.
    • Experience with Monte Carlo engineering analysis.
    • Ability to identify and resolve Integrated Guidance, Navigation, and Control (IGN&C) performance related issues and the ability to assist others in the resolution of these issues.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment consisting of NASA civil servants and various contractor employees.
Preferences:
  • MS in Aerospace Engineering.
  • Direct experience with the TRICK simulation architecture and the ANTARES or OrionSim GN&C simulations.
