The selected candidate for this role will: 
  • Develop fracture mechanics and programming solutions for the NASGRO® Fracture Mechanics and Fatigue Crack Growth Software applications suite.
  • Participate in research projects in fracture mechanics and fatigue.
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
  • BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering school and a m
  • inimum of ten (10) years of direct engineering experience, or MS degree from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of eight (8) years of direct engineering experience, or Ph. D degree and a minimum of four (4) years of direct engineering experience.
  • Expertise in computational problems in any area of Mechanics, preferably Fracture Mechanics.
  • Ability to navigate through and write additional segments of code to existing software with Fortran core and C++ graphical user interface.
  • Ability to write Fortran code is essential.
  • Knowledge of GUI tool kits such as wxWidgets is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are needed. Ability to respond efficiently and competently to queries from large user community is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively, rationally and quickly in real-time environments of rapid-change, conflicting requirements, and occasional pressure.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Software is expected.
Preferences:
  • MS degree.
  • Knowledge of numerical methods such as Finite Elements and Boundary Elements.
