The selected candidate is responsible for the design, analysis, install, integration, upgrading, maintenance, administration and documentation of network architecture, Windows/Unix server assets and services, VMware virtualization, SAN storage, centralized configuration management, continuous monitoring and redemption of said network, and documentation of Windows/Unix based  workstations. The selected candidate should continuously evaluate the current design implementations with regard to making  recommendations for improvement to the government and make improvements (where appropriate). The selected candidate should be able to install and troubleshoot a variety of third party products (ranging from office automation to specialized engineering software) and integrate a variety of commonly used devices such as printers and testing equipment. Lastly the selected candidate will provide infrastructure for specialized hardware/software that is optimized for the processing of EO/IR sensory images and complex algorithms. It is important that all information installed, integrated, maintained remains secure.
The selected candidate will provide on-site database coverage support during normal working hours as defined: M-F: 0730 hrs to 1630 hrs. However there is the potential with special mission requirements, to have hours outside the defined normal operating hours. This occurrence takes place rarely, only roughly 6 to 10 times per year. Additionally, network/server systems and any systems utilized by the Command Groups, are deemed critical systems and coverage support response times must be (at a maximum) within an hour and repair complete within 4 hours. Due to the cross connections of NVESD, some services must be available and perform correctly 24/7 in order to decrease the likelihood of mission requirements being compromised. 
 
Required:  8+ years of directly related experience. Must meet DoD 8570, 8570.01-M and AR 25-2 training and certification requirements such as: i.e. Unix Operating System Certification, or Linux+ and Security+. Associate's Degree.
 
Desired:  Technical training in an Information Technology field or Unix Systems Administrator training.
