Software Requirements/Test Engineer (Junior)
The successful candidate will perform the following activities on the Crew Mission System (CMS) at the Software Engineering Directorate (SED):
  • Evaluate and update requirements processes and procedures. 
  • Conduct requirements analysis to support derivative of system specifications and capabilities.
  • Conduct a functional analysis of helicopter system to identify dependencies between new components and existing aircraft systems.
  • Decompose Operational Requirements Document (ORD) into functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Develop use cases for requirements and decompose into system-level behaviors expected for each capability utilizing model diagrams.
  • Develop specifications and requirements for new individual products/subsystems. Interface directly with SW architects.
  • Assist with Integration and testing of software builds, coordinate test events.
  • Define processes and procedures for testing and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability.
  • Configure, test, evaluate and troubleshoot system software, and hardware.
  • Write and execute test plans, procedures, automated test scripts and reports.
  • Set up test environments and perform testing of new builds, patches and capabilities.
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • BS and 2-5 years’ system/software requirements/test experience
Desired but not required:
  • Demonstrable experience in Requirements Capture tools, such as DOORS.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and executing requirements based tests.
  • Experience with DO-178 and/or other flight qualification regulations, standards and guidelines.
  • Experience working within an Agile development environment
  • Knowledge of Human Machine Interface design and standards
  • Knowledge of Army Aviation equipment and standards
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrable ability and experience in working effectively with teams but also independently with minimal supervision.
