Software Engineer - PHP Developer 95% remote
Philadelphia, PATarget Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience in computer software development applying the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis for the design, development, testing, and evaluation of software and systems that enable computers to perform their many applications. Strong background in PHP and database management. Experience in delivering advanced solutions for a multi-tier, distributed web application. Responsible for design, development and deployment of server side PHP scripts and programs; designing and maintaining the development environment, frameworks, content management and databases; documenting code, concepts, business logic, and logistics; working on individual assignments to design and develop new features and interfaces using modern programming languages; assisting with debugging, development of bug fixes, and day-to-day maintenance tasks; assisting with QA testing of new code; knowledge and ability to understand enterprise level architecture; ability to serve as agile Scrum master if needed; self-starter independent operator.
Skills and Responsibilities:
3+ years of experience in a professional LAMP development environment.
An understanding of RESTful API’s and modern web frameworks.
Knowledge and ability to understand enterprise level architecture.
Experience in Agile methodologies and SCRUM desired.
Strong PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS experience is required.
Strong ability in Object Oriented Programming and Design is required.
Ability to write unit tests and mock objects in PHPUnit.
Knowledge of Object–relational mapping (ORM).
Understanding of a UML based design tools.
Understanding of containers and virtualized local development using Docker is a plus.
Participate in code views and provide constructive feedback.
Ability to develop new and innovative applications as well as maintaining existing code.
Ability to organize & communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical people across functional teams.
Cybersecurity Workforce Requirements: IAT-2
Certification: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP
