Salary is based on years of experience and degree level.  A 5 year candidate can expect a salary range of 105-110k+.  A 10 year candidate can expect a salary range of 130-140+K

The candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience 
 Key Responsibilities  • Identify safety standards as it applies to system development processes and assessments of a safety critical system  • V&V of system safety requirements and their traceability to software and hardware  • Interface with other technical skills sets to prepare and review safety documentation and analyses, and report their status to customer  • Experience with System Safety Program Plans (SSPP), Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSA) and System Safety Assessments (SSA) • Support development of safety analyses including: Fault Tree Analyses (FTA), Common Cause Analyses (CCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA)  • Selected candidate will be involved with Safety Risk Management (SRM) activities that include hazard identification, assessment, mitigation and tracking.  • Present findings and discuss with System Safety Working Group and customer.

Required  • BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field  • Minimum of five (5) years (cumulative) of engineering experience working as a safety engineer within the aerospace, automotive, or related industries • Demonstrated experience with SAE and ARP standards.  Experience with  processes  to include capturing system safety requirements and designing safety compliant systems • Experience with systems engineering and software development processes . • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  

Desired  • Two (2) or more years of experience in systems engineering or software engineering  • MS degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field • GNSS  experience helpful •  civil or military aircraft avionics, particularly navigation systems, or other safety-critical equipment experience would be helpful  • knowledge of RTCA DO-278A and DO-254 processes • Some Knowledge os RAM would be helpful
